HP 9300 TouchSmart PC

Touch screens are all the rage with mobile technology, but touch-enabled desktops are still few and far between. HP originally led the way with the first TouchSmart PC back in 2008, and since then they’ve been continually innovating the line. The HP 9300 and 610 are the two latest additions to the family and the first to incorporate a 60 degree reclining stand. The design is an obvious move to make tapping around on their 23-inch 1080p LED displays more tablet-like, especially when you factor in that both support multitouch gestures like pinch and zooming. Internally, an bevy of options exist including one of Intel’s latest Core i3 or i7 processors, a maximum of 16GB of RAM and either 1TB HD or 160GB solid-state drives. Either way, you get a Blu-ray combo drive, an SD card reader, dual mics, plus a 2MP web cam. Since the 610 is designed for home use, there’s also an integrated HDTV tuner and variety of pre-installed media apps for Hulu Plus and Netflix — making it an excellent bedroom TV replacement. If you’re willing to pay slightly more though, there’s even an upgrade option for audio by Dr. Dre’s Beats. The 610 will go on sale this Wednesday for a starting price of $900.
